Northeast Regional Carpenters Apprentice Training Center
Edison, NJ
The new Carpenters Apprentice Training Center is designed to meet the needs of the carpenters union and provide apprentice and journeyman carpenters alike with the best equipment and training offered in the industry. This new facility in Edison, NJ serves as a central location as the union consolidates all of their New Jersey training facilities into one.
Construction of the new two-story, 99,700 sf state-of-the-art apprentice training facility began in late 2016 and was completed in the spring of 2018. The center has numerous classrooms, hands-on training areas for carpentry, flooring, mill-cabinet, millwright and pile driving trades. The facility’s classrooms have the latest in audio/visual technology and are located along the perimeter of the massive two-story training area, which features 14 welding booths, and numerous workstations for framing, cabinetry, ceilings and floors, rigging steel concrete forms, as well as a cabinet shop that is completely equipped to help train those entering the mill-cabinet program. There is also an overhead bridge crane to move equipment throughout the training area, and to assist in the concrete, pile driving, and millwright programs. Finally, the plush and spacious 300-seat auditorium with theater seating offers all the amenities needed for holding meetings and conferences, professional presentations, orientations, and graduations. Adjoining the training facility is a five-story, 125,227 sf parking garage to accommodate up to 325 cars. |
